In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Central yet quiet location — On a quiet back street, a minute's walk from the main shopping strip and close to restaurants, markets and transport links.
  • Helpful, efficient staff — Guests repeatedly mention friendly, available service, with one naming receptionist Mr. Gabriele for going above and beyond.
  • Early breakfast for early risers — Breakfast starts at 7.00, which several guests found ideal for fitting in a full day of sightseeing.
  • Pets welcome — The hotel allows pets, making it a convenient base for travellers with animals.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Unremarkable exterior — The building looks like a standard residential block rather than a hotel, which some guests noted as underwhelming from the outside.
  • Not near the main train station — Its downtown location is good for shopping and sights, but travellers needing to be close to train or bus terminals may find it less convenient.
  • Value rating is the weakest category — While overall rating is 8.1, the Value score is a modest 7.6, suggesting some guests felt price and offering didn't fully align.

“A very pleasant stay overall, I'd recommend it. The hotel felt upscale and clean, and the location was unbeatable, right near all transport links. Breakfast was decent, though an extra charge applied.”

8.1Verified guest

“Quiet street in the center. Close to transport and sights, and not far from the seaside promenade. The lift was quick, the room spacious with high ceilings and comfy beds. Air conditioning, fridge, and large TV. Bathroom was roomy and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Payment was smooth. Staff were helpful and friendly, especially Mr. Gabriele.”

8.1Verified guest

“Fantastic location, felt safe and well cared for. Wonderful staff, not pushy but always available and efficient. I won't mention the price, but 50-60 euros would be good value in my opinion. I've stayed in Palermo several times and would definitely return to Mediterraneo. (If you speak Italian, you'll have an advantage...).”

“Simple but well-maintained. Reception staff were excellent and helpful. My room was very good, all electricals worked. Bathroom was clean with hot and cold water. Breakfast was very good and started at 7am sharp, which helped as I left early each day. The only issue is the exterior—it doesn't look like a hotel from outside, just another building. Still, a wonderful stay and good value.”

8.1Verified guest

“Perfect location for exploring nearby sights, and staff were helpful with requests. We visited the famous opera house and did guided city tours. Breakfast was served early, which suited our sightseeing schedule.”

8.1Verified guest

“Excellent location, 15 meters from the main shopping street, key sights, and a few blocks from a restaurant quarter with reasonably priced local food. Free Wi-Fi in the room (get a daily 24-hour password from reception). Good-size LCD TV—a nice change from budget hotels' small screens. Decently clean, acceptable breakfast.”
